Google opens privacy research center in Germany

Google has announced the opening of a privacy focused engineering center in Munich. It is to host more than 200 privacy engineers by the end of this year. Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that the new center will make Munich a global hub for the company’s ‘cross-product privacy engineering efforts’. According to CNBC, Google also announced a 10 million euro fund to support non-profits, universities and other organisations working across Europe.
