Global Media Monitoring Report reveals a gender divide in digital news media

The Global Media Monitoring Project 2015 presents a macro-level analysis of the role of gender in news content, with disaggregated data for different regions and topics. According to the report, women make up ‘only 24% of the persons heard, read about or seen’ in the news media, and women’s invisibility seems to have crossed over into digital news, where the coverage of women is only 26%.
