Facebook releases mental health resources to cope with COVID-19

Facebook announced that it made resources for mental health and wellbeing available in its COVID-19 Information Center. Users can find tips from the World Health Organization (WHO) on how to stay active and relieve stress, as well as information on local crisis hotlines to get help when needed. The company also announced that it is donating USD$2 million to Vibrant Emotional Health (that runs the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in the US), Kids Help Phone in Canada, iCALL Psychosocial Helpline in India, and others. Moreover, Facebook added a new feature called Quiet Mode which mutes most push notifications, and if a user tries to open Facebook while in Quiet Mode, it will remind the user that Quiet Mode is activated to let them limit their time on the platform.
