Facebook to pay creators to use the platform

Facebook is developing a program to pay over $1 billion to creators to use the platform by the end of 2022. The resources will be given to creators from several backgrounds. It aims to give incentives for posting original and creative posts on Facebook. Selected influencers will be able to charge Facebook when using specific tools or achieving certain milestones, such as livestreaming on a regular basis. The move comes as an attempt to captivate influencers that have been showing their work for years on TikTok and YouTube. Both platforms have structured their businesses in a way that creators can make money.

According to a private report, more than 50 million people around the world currently consider themselves as creators.
