The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has published a consultation paper titled ‘Digital Transformation through 5G Ecosystem‘ seeking to identify the challenges faced in adopting new technologies and to set a path for the digital transformation of India’s economy.

The rapid digital revolution in India, driven by fast and reliable mobile technologies, has already significantly impacted the economy and improved the lives of citizens through services like the unified payment interface (UPI). India’s digital transformation, driven by mobile technology adoption, is set to grow even more with the integration of 5G and emerging technologies like AI, AR/VR, and IoT. This vision requires stakeholder collaboration to improve infrastructure, expand network access, lower 5G costs, and generate public interest. The TRAI seeks input on this through a consultation paper available until 30 October 2023, with extended input opportunities until 13 November 2023. This collective effort aims to unlock the full potential of 5G for the benefit of all in India.
