European Commission launches public consultation on plans to fight child sexual abuse

The European Commission has launched a four week public consultation on its plans to fight child sexual abuse online. The aim is to invite comments on the commission’s understanding of the problem, possible solutions including their impact, for fighting child sexual abuse (detection, removal and reporting). The commission will also explore creating a European centre to prevent and counter child sexual abuse. The comments received will be summarised in a synopsis report with explanation why some comments were accepted or could not be taken up.
