.eu in Cyrillic officially launched

EURid, the registry for .eu (the top level domain corresponding to the European Union) has announced the official launch of .eю, the Cyrillic version of .eu. Earlier in 2009, EURid introduced Internationalised Domain Names (IDNs) at the second level under .eu, which made it possible for second level domain names (the part of a domain name before the dot) to be registered in Cyrillic.  With the launch of .eю, domain names can now make full use of the Cyrillic script, for both the extension and the second level domain.
