Dutch data protection authority indicated 80% increase of complaints
According to NL Times, the number of complaints about privacy violations sent to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP) increased by a 79 % to 27,800 last year. The authority handled a total of 20,700 complaints last year, resulting in 138 investigations, with 25 violations found. The authority also signaled that its capacity remains insufficient to help individuals in a timely enough manner, most complaints being handled six months after they were filed.
