Donuts continues its legal battle with ICANN over .web

Donuts has amended its July lawsuit against ICANN over the .web new gTLD, demanding that ICANN refrains from assigning the rights to .web to any party pending a final decision in the court, and that the corporation also pays damages amounting to $22.5 million (according to DomainIncite). Donuts continues to argue that ICANN has breached its duties by allowing the auction for .web to go forward despite an ‘apparent’ change of control at Nu Dot Co, a competing applicant that eventually won the auction over .web. After the auction, Verisign announced that it has entered into an agreement with Nu Dot Co, providing the company with the funds for the bid.
