Digital accessibility journey report published by Infosys

Access to information and communication technologies – is vital for everyone, including access to the Internet. With the COVID-19 pandemic, an acceleration to digital transformation has been realised. However, not everyone is onboard, persons with disability make up a large proportion of this.
In Australia, one in every five people have a disability, while in New Zealand, the number is one in four. This scale shows that Digital Accessibility is simply non-negotiable if the benefits of a digital era are to be realised by all.
Digital accessibility includes designing digital products i.e websites, mobile apps etc, accessible to everyone regardless of any disability that they may have. The Infosys research report, highlighted only 3 % of the organisations in Australia and New Zealand are meeting the digital accessibility standards in all their digital assets and services.
