The U.S. Justice Department and the Commonwealth of Virginia announced the creation of a special task force aimed at combating fraudulent activities that seek to profit off the health crisis, including online scams that steal money from victims or install malware. The Virginia Coronavirus Fraud Task Force is composed of the FBI, prosecutors from the U.S. attorney’s offices for the eastern and western districts of the state and the Virginia State Police.
