CCWG-Accountability meeting in LA triggers discussions on second draft proposal

The face-to-face meeting of the CCWG-Accountability in Los Angeles triggered intense discussions with the ICANN Board members on the second draft proposal for enhancing accountability. According to the Chairs’ Statement, progress was made in the following areas: further agreement on the community powers, specifically the power to reconsider/reject ICANN Budget and power to remove individual Board Directors; details of the Community Forum; commitment to enhance Supporting Organisations/Advisory Committees’ Accountability as a part of WK1; and incorporation of human rights language into the ICANN Bylaws as a part of WS1.
