CBN promotes e-Naira adoption to accelerate the digital payment revolution

In its latest efforts, the CBN visited the Federal University of Technology, Akure to raise awareness among university officials, staff, and students about the transformative potential of this digital payment system.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is promoting the adoption of the e-Naira policy and recently visited the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) to inform the university’s officials, staff, and students about the importance of using this digital payment system.

The CBN believes that embracing the e-Naira will bring about significant changes in the country’s financial landscape and wants FUTA to integrate it into its transactions to enhance the institution’s economic environment.

The CBN claims that the e-Naira is designed to complement physical currency while providing a more efficient, secure, and accessible means of payment. FUTA expressed willingness to partner with the CBN on this initiative, and ten students from the university were trained as ambassadors for the e-Naira scheme in Akure.
