The zone files for .se and .nu made publicly available
The Internet Foundation in Sweden (IIS), which manages the operation and administration of .se and .nu top level domains (TLDs), has decided to make the zone files for these two TLDs publicly available. The zone files include DNS information (the information necessary for the domain name to function on a technical basis, including IP addresses) about all delegated domain names under .se and .nu. According to IIS, ‘there is no confidential information in zone files’. The registry hopes that unveiling the zone files would ‘allow more people to perform analyses and conduct research on the services available in Sweden’.
