Yahoo! confirms the theft of a massive amount of use account information.

Yahoo! has confirmed that a massive amount of user account information was stolen from the company’s network in late 2014. The stolen information may have included names, email addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, hashed passwords, and, in some cases,  encrypted or unencrypted security questions and answers. Yahoo claims that the investigation suggests that stolen information did not include unprotected passwords, payment card data, or bank account information. The attack is believed to have been performed by a state-sponsored actor. The company has published a list of FAQ to gel answer user’s questions about this case.
