Wyoming introduces contact-tracing app

The US state Wyoming is introducing contact tracing app Care19 Diary, based on apps already used in North and South Dakota. The aim of the app is to enhance existing contact tracing efforts in order to limit the spread of the Coronavirus. The Care19 Diary app will only track the location of the person with the option of deleting the collected data at any time.

The app comes with mixed reviews, as the experience of its use in North and South Dakota has revealed inaccuracy in determination of location and sharing of data collected by the app with third parties without user consent.
