World Bank to support digital transformation in Madagascar

In order to advance digital transformation in Madagascar, the World Bank has approved a credit of over USD 140 million. The loan is meant to help digitize the delivery of public services such as health. As part of the project, funds will also be directed towards the development of an effective and secure identity management system in order to modernize the national civil registry and identity databases. The credit will also be used to address climate change resiliency by employing cloud technology to safeguard critical data and services, in particular, during natural disasters.
