Women in Cyber Mentorship Programme launches call for partners
The Women in Cyber Mentorship (WiC) Programme is jointly held by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), and EQUALS, the global partnership for gender equality in the digital age of which ITU is a co-founder. The WiC brings together role models and leaders in the field and connects them with talented women worldwide. It further aims at leveraging the ongoing efforts of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau (ITU-BDT) to overcome the digital gender divide by mainstreaming gender-focused activities within different thematic priorities. The programme is built on monthly mentorship circles with supporting activities, including a series of inspirational webinars and technical and soft skills training courses which will be conducted online between March-August 2021. The founding entities invite other UN entities and international organisations, governments, universities and academic bodies, nongovernmental organisations (NGOs), foundations, and industry representatives to join the WiC and contribute to the programme by supporting its implementation, and/or by nominating potential mentors or mentees. Call for partners is open from 22 February to 31 March 2021.
