WIPO presents data on cybersquatting cases in 2015

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has recently published data about Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) cases filed with the organisation by trademark owners in 2015. According to such data, there were 2754 cybersquatting  cases filed in 2015, 10.5% of these being related to new gTLDs (an increase of 4.6% over the previous year). Country code top-level domains (ccTLDs) accounted for 13.7% of all filings. With more and more new gTLDs delegated into the root zone, WIPO expects the increase in new gTLD registrations in its caseload to continue.
