White House meets with tech companies to contain coronavirus outbreak

The US Chief Technology Officer Michael Kratsios and technology industry officials met to discuss tech-related response to tackle the coronavirus outbreak and plans to collaborate with the private sector, according to a report. Kratsios presented a plan to release a new database of scholarly literatures on coronavirus and urged the tech sector to apply tools like artificial intelligence (AI) to assist medical researchers to gain scientific insights from the collection of articles. The companies such as Amazon, Apple, Cisco, Facebook, Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Twitter participated in the meeting via teleconference.
