The hacker group that launched a successful cyberattack on Western Digital, known as BlackCat, released screenshots of internal emails, documents and video conferences related to the company’s response to the attack, suggesting it still has access to Western Digital’s systems.

The leak comes after the threat actor warned Western Digital that it would harm the company until it had paid the ransom. Western Digital was hit by a cyberattack on 26 March, in which threat actors penetrated its internal network and stole data from the company. However, ransomware was not used, and the files were not encrypted. The company responded by shutting down its cloud services for two weeks.
