Western Australia launches digital ID based app
The government of Western Australia has launched an app dubbed ServiceWA that integrates three main services- COVID vaccination certificates; identification and entry into the state’s businesses, venues and events; as well as a travel pass in and out of the state. This comes as a statewide proof of vaccination requirement to attend state events and offices comes into effect from 31 January. To use the app, residents will require to set up a digital ID. They will also need to consent to have their vaccination details shared with the app. While a previous digital health pass- SafeWA- shared data with police, ServiceWA does not, according to ZDNet .
