WEF publishes Global Information Technology Report 2016

The World Economic Forum has published the 2016 edition of The Global Information Technology Report. The report examines the capacity of countries to use ICTs for ‘increased competitiveness and well-being’ and summarises it in the Networked Readiness Index. The index shows that Europe and North America remain at the ‘technology frontier’, while many Asian countries continue their upward trajectory. Several sub-Saharan African countries are similarly among the top upward movers. The performance of countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the MENAP-region, remains largely dispersed. The report furthermore assesses the role of ICTs in driving innovation, and includes an extensive data compendium.
