Viettel Business Solutions has forged a strategic partnership with Singtel to deploy the Vietnam-Singapore Cable System (VTS), marking a significant milestone in regional telecommunications. Leveraging cutting-edge wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology, the VTS cable, set to be the first direct subsea link between Vietnam and Singapore, represents a collaborative effort between two major telecommunications players.

The deployment of the VTS cable aligns closely with Vietnam’s ambitious strategy to strengthen its international subsea cable capacity by 2030. By aiming to increase the number of international cables landing in Vietnam to at least 15, with a minimum total capacity of 334 Tbps, the country is positioning itself as a key player in the region’s digital landscape. Moreover, with the VTS cable expected to add “hundreds of Tbps” to Viettel’s total international connectivity capacity upon its operationalization in the second quarter of 2027, it will play a crucial role in supporting Vietnam’s digital transformation and integration into the global economy.
