Vietnam launches website to keep children safe online

The Vietnam Network for Child Online Protection has launched a website for protecting children online. Developed and deployed by the Authority of Information Security, under the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), the website will contain information about child safety online in Vietnam and the world, technologies including sofrware developed for keeping children safe online,  allow children and community to provide suggestions on how to keep children safe online, provision to report child abuse online and contact the Child Affairs Department’s hotline.  The website launch is in line with the Prime Minister’s Decision issued on June 1  2021 to protect and assist children in healthy and creative interactions on the internet from 2021 to 2025. 

The  Vietnam Network for Child Online Protection has representatives of 24 organisations, including the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. Other representatives are from agencies, enterprises, and domestic and foreign organisations that specialise in child protection on the Internet.
