Users posting fake Amazon reviews on Fiverr the online labour exchange could end up in court

Internet users who post false online reviews of books, restaurants or holidays could end up in court as Amazon launches a fightback against fake reviews. Amazon is targeting individuals who offered their services on the website Fiverr.com, an online labour exchange. The latest legal action comes after Amazon sued a number of websites in April for selling fake reviews arguing that this undermines their brand reputation and consumer trust on their marketplace. The legal action says: “Amazon is bringing this action to protect its customers from this misconduct, by stopping defendants and uprooting the ecosystem in which they participate.”
