The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) stated that there is a growing regulatory interest in AI accountability mechanisms and looks at possible efforts that would serve as a ‘cohesive and comprehensive federal government approach to AI-related risks and opportunities.’ Additionally, the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Policy asked the U.S. Federal Trade Commission to prevent OpenAI from issuing new commercial releases of GPT-4 as it is a risk to privacy and public safety.
