US security agencies issue advisory after water hacking incident

Following the Florida water hacking incident in early February, the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the FBI, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center have released a joint cybersecurity advisory regarding the matter. The advisory outlines how desktop sharing software and end-of-life operating systems can be exploited to gain unauthorised access to systems. The advisory also includes recommendations concerning water and wastewater system security.
