US removes Kaspersky from the list of approved vendors

The US General Services Administration (GSA), the agency that handles government IT purchases and subscriptions, has removed Kaspersky Lab from two lists of vendors approved to work with federal agencies. According to The Register, the decision was motivated by growing concerns Kaspersky’s products could be used by the Kremlin to gain entry into U.S. networks, for sabotage or espionage. Kremlin dubbed this decision politicized, while the company itself stated that it was dragged into a geopolitical fight and turned into a pawn, Reuters reports
