US National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence releases guide for securing telehealth remote patient monitoring technology
The US National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) published the final version of NIST Special Publication 1800-30, Securing Telehealth Remote Patient Monitoring Ecosystem. The NCCoE developed this guide in collaboration with healthcare, technology, and telehealth partners and designed a reference architecture that demonstrates how healthcare delivery organisations may use standards-based approaches and commercially available cybersecurity technologies to implement privacy and cybersecurity controls, which will enhance the resiliency of their telehealth remote patient monitoring ecosystem. The guide can help healthcare organisations identify cybersecurity risks associated with the solution architecture, apply the NIST Privacy Framework to better understand privacy risks, assure healthcare organisations contract appropriate telehealth platform providers to further extend cybersecurity and privacy control deployment, management, efficacy, and more.
