US HHS launches ‘Design-A-Thon’ for COVID-19 diagnostics
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched a new collaborative initiative for developing COVID-19 diagnostic solutions called the ‘COVID-19 At-Anywhere Diagnostics Design-A-Thon’. The HHS is looking for better ways to capture COVID-19 diagnostic data, standardise that data, and report key data elements efficiently and accurately in order to harness a data-driven response to the pandemic. The Design-A-Thon brings all stakeholders together to build digital solutions for data capture, harmonisation, and reporting from COVID-19 diagnostic tests. The initiative also aims to foster public-private development of combined software-hardware diagnostics of COVID-19.
