US Department of Justice to investigate digital discrimination
The US Department of Justice announced a new initiative to combat redlining, an illegal practice in which lenders avoid providing services to individuals because of their race or national origin in certain neighbourhoods. This cross-government effort will also focus on investing algorithms and software banks used to decide whether to approve a loan.
