US Consumer Tech Association launches public health initiative

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in the USA launched the Public Health Tech Initiative that convenes key healthcare and technology leaders; including Microsoft, Facebook, Doctor On Demand, and more to create recommendations for the use of technology in responding to future pandemics. The new initiative aims to develop a framework based on lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically pertaining to co-ordination of resources, strengthening public health systems, capacity, communication, and resilience. The initiative’s first project will be to publish a whitepaper that highlights what has worked and analyse challenges, such as the lack of access to services and technology.
