US businesses support AI regulation, survey finds

KPMG survey conducted among 751 US business decision-makers shows wide-ranging support for some level of government regulation of artificial intelligence (AI). The largest support for government oversight came from business leaders most engaged in and most knowledgeable about AI: 91% of respondents whose companies have made AI fully functional at scale and 75% of those with high AI knowledge believe the government should be involved in regulating AI technology. The survey also identified key challenges when it comes to integrating AI technology into the workplace: lack of understanding of technology’s capabilities, lack of training, and lack of initial investment funding.
