UNICEF launches groundbreaking Generation Unlimited initiative with Kinshasa Digital Academy to train 10 million youths by 2030
The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Kinshasa Digital Academy revealed a new partnership to launch Generation Unlimited (GenU) in the Democratic Republic of Congo. GenU is a global multi-sector partnership set up internationally by UNICEF to meet the urgent need for expanded education, training, and employment opportunities for young people on an unprecedented scale. This initiative will connect Congolese youths with different stakeholders including government agencies, private companies, universities, international organizations, and civil society organisations to establish an enabling environment for youth development in coaching, skills building, networking, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Through this initiative, 10 million young Congolese people, who are between the ages of 10 and 24 are in school and learning remotely, will benefit from an alternative learning opportunity and receive professional training or employment by 2030.
