UNESCO and partners launch initiative to promote data and algorithms literacy

The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Canada-based organisation Kids Code Jeunesse, and the Canadian Commission for UNESCO have announced a partnership to promote the Data and Algorithms Literacy programme. The partnership has two key goals: (a) organise an international challenge to get youth using artificial intelligence (AI) and data to achieve the sustainable development goals, and (b) promote data and algorithm literacy through advocacy activities and provision of training resources, accessible through digital platforms. The partnership was launched at the International Forum on AI and Education, organised by UNESCO on 7 and 8 December 2021.
