UNCTAD launches ‘eTrade for All’
The United Nations Conference on trade and Development (UNCTAD) has launched a new initiative: eTrade for All. The initiative aims at bringing stakeholders together to boost progression of e-commerce in developing countries. According to UNCTAD, developing countries need to ‘grasp the rapidly growing opportunity of electronic commerce…or risk falling quickly behind’. The initiative assists developing countries in several areas, including e-commerce assessments, ICT infrastructure, legal and regulatory frameworks and skills development. This way, the initiative hopes to support the use of ICTs to facilitate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
