UNCTAD hails Nigeria on consumer protection during the Coronavirus pandemic

According to a news report, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has commended Nigeria for taking decisive steps to prevent price hikes and other anti-competitive behaviour during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. UNCTAD hailed Nigeria during a recent webinar as part of its recent eWeek programme on the topic ‘Competition and Consumer Protection in Times of COVID-19’. The conference which brought together participants and speakers from competition and consumer protection agencies across the world shared ideas and experiences on how to better protect consumers and manage e-commerce which has seen a spike in usage in the wake of the pandemic.
