The UN Office for Disarmament Affairs is seeking input from member states regarding the necessary capabilities for inclusion in the Points of Contact (POC) directory. This includes insights on capacity-building experiences gained from participation in other directories.

Responses are requested by Friday, 15 March, 2024. The paper will be published in June 2024. Submissions received after the deadline will be posted on the UNODA Meetings Place website.

In its inaugural annual progress report (A/77/275), the Open-Ended Working Group on Security of and in the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for the years 2021-2025 decided to establish a global intergovernmental point of contact directory.

UNODA, serving as the OEWG’s secretariat, will oversee the management of the POC directory, responsible for developing and implementing its technical aspects.

The next phase involves UNODA collaborating with interested states to create an online tutorial, ‘POC 101,’ covering practical aspects of participating in the directory.
