UN fund launches malnutrition financing

The UN-backed UNITLIFE trust fund, in partnership with the Onlyone digital bank , has announced a partnership that will deposit microdonations to women farmers who grow nutritious food for overcoming malnutrition in their communities. To start with, Onlyone will make monthly donations of 60 euro cents for every customer to finance UNITLIFE’s investments.

UNITLIFE is a fund created by the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) to fight chronic malnutrition. Its investments come from voluntary microdonations via non-cash transactions, innovative matching and crowdsourcing schemes, blockchain fundraising, and click-to-donate models.
