UK’s NCSC issues advice on securing IoT home devices

The UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) released a public recommendation urging consumers to secure their Internet of things (IoT) devices. The NCSC highlighted the growing popularity of connected home devices and provided security guidance for consumers. The guidance includes three steps consumers should follow: (a) changing default passwords of devices; (b) regularly installing security software updates; (c) disabling remote camera access whenever not used. The NCSC’s recommendations are supported by the UK consumer group Which?
