UK and Canada advance quantum research collaboration
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada have announced the winners of the UK-Canada Quantum Technologies Competition, an initiative aimed to foster quantum research collaborations between academia, industry, and governmental agencies in the UK and Canada. The eight projects will benefit from grants of £2 million from the UK and C$4.4 million from Canada, and will cover areas such as quantum communication for satellite based networks, advanced manufacturing for quantum computing, and research towards the development of silicon based quantum computers.
