Uganda launches ICT outreach programs for underserved communities

The government of Uganda, through its information and communication technology (ICT) ministry, has launched an ICT outreach programme for underserved communities. The programme uses universal service access funds and focuses on extending ICT services to communities that the private sector does not consider lucrative enough to invest in. It targets over 1,500 households providing them with solar tablets, internet, data, and content translated to local languages.
