Uber to offer hourly service to limit driver and passenger exposure to COVID-19

Uber will expand a service known as hourly in the US, following the success of the service in cities across Africa, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. The new feature provides a flexible option to riders when they need extra-time with the service. The hourly service will allow riders who have multiple stops to interface with a single driver as opposed to multiple cars and drivers via individual trips. Riders will be able to book an Uber car and driver on an hourly basis for $50. Uber will match hourly riders with drivers who have cars and ratings that qualify for the service. Uber aims to attract riders who may have preferred public transportation but currently might be avoiding it because of the pandemic.
