Uber is legal in London, decides the high court

After the pressure from the black-cab drivers that Uber app is being used as a taximeter, the London transport regulator TfL brought the case to a court. The court, however, ruled that the smartphones that use the app – even though essential for the service – can’t be seen as taximeter, thereby saying that Uber is legal on this ground. Uber hopes that the TfL will now change its other “bureaucratic proposals” related to new services like Uber. Taxi drivers of London, however, complain that taxi driving is a profession (a license requiring the exams, among other), and not just anyone should be able to do it.
