Uber Eats to start phone ordering amid COVID-19

Uber Eats is adding phone ordering options to its delivery service to help people who do not have smartphones, and to expand its potential customer base to all phone users. Clients who do not already have an Uber account will be able to create one over the phone with a company employee. With lockdown policies enforced in many cities where Uber operates, the company has seen its ride-hailing business drop down. Uber admits investing in the expansion of its food delivery services to attenuate the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on its ride-hailing services. In early April, Uber accelerated the global launch of  Uber Eats for business services as well.
