Tinder experiments with AI chatbots in new interactive game
Tinder’s new AI-powered game allows iOS users to interact with a chatbot in a fun and judgement-free space.

Tinder has introduced an AI-powered in-app game called ‘The Game Game’ to encourage user interaction and engagement.
The feature, currently available only to iOS users in the United States, allows players to flirt with an AI chatbot. Developed using OpenAI’s GPT-4 and GPT-4 mini models, the game provides a playful and judgement-free space for users to practise conversations.
Users can engage with the AI chatbot up to five times per day, with each session lasting three minutes. If the chatbot agrees to ‘date’ them, they can explore different scenarios while improving their confidence.
Tinder’s vice president of product, growth, and revenue, Hillary Paine, stated that the game is designed to help users experiment with interactions before moving on to real-life conversations.
Match Group’s latest innovation aligns with its strategy to attract more users, particularly from Gen Z, and increase engagement on the platform. The company aims to boost revenue by introducing interactive features that enhance the online dating experience.
