The FBI warns operators of critical infrastructure to have mitigation measures ready against DDoS attacks

The FBI has released a Private Industry Notification to operators of critical infrastructure to strengthen their preparedness against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released a Private Industry Notification (to stress Russian hacktivism activity online and push operators of critical infrastructure to implement measures aimed at reducing the likelihood and impact of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. Recommendations include the enrollment in a Denial of Service protection service, the creation of partnerships with internet service providers (ISP) (prior and during an attack), and the creation of a disaster recovery plan to also monitor other network assets for potential further attacks.
