Study: Internet’s protocols, infrastructure are a global public good

A research paper on The Public Core of the Internet, by the Dutch Scientific Council for Government Policy, argues that the Internet’s key protocols and infrastructure can being considered a global public good. Countering the growing state interference with this ‘public core of the Internet’ requires a new international agenda for Internet governance that departs from the notion of a global public good, the research states. The paper was presented during the Netherlands IGF.
