Study finds majority of tweets denying climate change come from bots

A study conducted by Brown University revealed that the majority of tweets denying climate change come from bots. The study surveyed some 7 million tweets on the issue of climate change leading up to 1 June 2017 when US President Donald Trump decided to withdraw from the Paris Agreement.

Explaining the aim of the study, lead author of the study, Thomas Marlow pointed out that the idea was to explore ‘why there’s persistent levels of denial about something that the science is more or less settled on’.
